Coal-fired power plants currently fuel 41% of global electricity and over 50% of electricity in the US. The importance of coal to electricity generation worldwide is set to continue, with coal fuelling 44% of global electricity in 2030.
North America was built on reliable coal generated power and it will continue to power over half of the modern world into the foreseeable future. Developing countries around the world will depend on a steady supply of coal to power plans for growth and infrastructure.
